Many dream of travel nursing while navigating the rigors of nursing school, only to be met with a barrage of "NO" relayed to lack of nursing experience. kaeter's founders, being nurses themselves, considered this unfair practice, a practice which, many times, can delay patients receiving the care which they deserve.
How are travel nurses paid?
Travel contracts can vary. Some contracts include housing and food allotments while some do not. Some facilities offer on-site housing while others provide a dollar amount to cover these expenses.
Can my family accompany me on assignments?
Each assignment will be different. When a nurse pays for his/her own housing, it is up to them who accompanies. When a facility provides housing, they will provide stipulations which apply to the agreement.
Does the agency pay for lodging? Food? Mileage?
The agency does, in some cases provide housing. When tax free wages are paid, it is likely that lodging will be the nurse's responsibility. kaeter provides a mileage reimbursement on many assignments. Food is also generally the nurses' responsibility. When tax free wages are provided, a portion is allotted for food.
Do I need to do anything concerning my nursing license?
Nurses are required to be licensed in the state in which they practice. A multi-state license can be utilized in all states which belong to The Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). The nurse is required to acquire and maintain proper licensing. Some agencies will reimburse the nurse for licensing fees related to assignments with that company.

The spark which was the genesis of an idea was birthed as a result of the union of a couple of regular folks and nursing school. Soon after completing their respective nursing programs, the couple embarked on the adventure which is travel nursing. But not before being met with “no” after “no” from countless staffing firms. While on their travel nursing journey, the two nurses recognized how great the shortage of qualified nurses and other professional medical staff that existed across facilities, across the country. One common requirement of travel nursing agencies is at least one year of experience. While this could be viewed as a prudent requirement, it is the paradigm at Kaeter that every nurse is qualified to be one, no matter the length of experience.
